Anyone take Endocet 10/325 for pain??

I was taking Percocet 5/325 or the generic form and it wasn't controlling my pain.

My internist gave me the Endocet in a higher dosage but it wears off in about 4 1/2 to 5 hours.

Anyone else have any luck with this and if not...what do you take that works for a longer time period.

I was thinking about asking about a pain patch when I go to the rheumy next month. Somedays the pain is so hard to bear and I have to work. I have no choice but to go to work everyday, pain or not.

I also take Methotrexate by shot form too.

strong stuff

Oxycodone/acetaminophen (Endocet) is strong stuff , I wish that I could take it but it makes me to loopy. Seem like the patch might be better. You poor thing . Is there any way for you to be able to work at home?
I remember when I took the oxy for a short time (only 1/2 a pill too ) and boy was I loopy . Couldn't even sit out . It just knocked me out. Plus it still only dulled the pain. I've been looking into pain patches too or a pain pump but still undecided on them.
This RA is so hard to get under control. I'm so sorry that your in so much pain and have to work.
Hopefully someone else that has tried this drug with success can help you better.
Take care.

Strong Stuff

I know exactly what you mean about making you loopy. I can only take 1/2 pill at a time and still work then it is still hard to keep focused on what I am doing.

At home if I take a whole pill I have to sit down or lie down. It will dull my pain enough I can take a nap but it still doesn't kill all the pain and when it wears off, the pain is as bad as ever.

As for working at home, no. I work in an office that I have to be in to do the work. I wish I could find something else but I have to have the insurance the company provides so I make myself go each day.

I have only missed two days work for sickness but they comment a lot at work that they know I really don't feel like being there. You can look at my face and tell when the pain is unbearable. Thank goodness the women I work with are good to let me sit and they do the leg work.

Thanks for your comments. Somedays I feel so lonely in this disease and that makes it so much worse when my own family and friends don't understand it.

pain

Check with others who take methotrexate by shot, but doctor took me off it because it was causing me lung problems. I am now on oxygen all the time. Lois
