I don't have RA nor nodules on fingers. But I do have OA in other parts of my body. I don't know how to STOP nodules from forming but the first thing that comes to mind is to eliminate sugary/refined carb foods. The reason I say this is we have a lady at our women's club who has swollen fingers and nodules forming and she over does it with sugary foods. There probably is a connection, as sugar does no good in our bodies. I do have small nodules on both index fingers but they have NOT grown for a long time.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much of anything that can be done about nodules. The good news is that they don't hurt. I have some prominent noduling on my fingers, elbows and forearms just below the elbow (toward the hand). About 4 years ago, I had the nodules on my left forearm surgically removed. But alas, they have come back. So I guess it is a futile exercise to have them removed. Sorry I can't help more. Dar

It's true nodules come with RA and other AI diseases and sometime they are just ugly fatty lumps. But the ones on your fingers, toes, elbows are from the RA unforutaly progressing. I had asked a sweet lady one day the had then really bad and she said that they came on fast (within a few years ) didn't hurt ,but her fingers had lumped and uver lapped. She was probably in her mid 60's and had RA since her 20's she said. I have about 20 or so one me most are still small . I did have one removed on my upper thigh but it came back and brought a friend. I also have them in my spine but that not related to the RA. It suck but RA doesn't give us the nice pretty hands. I would talk to you rheumatalogist maybe he can up your dwards/bio meds . Nodules don't always hurt but they can if the are pressing on a joint or nerve. D.
