I HAD Breast Cancer
|
I was almost stage 4. Left breast. Cancer was outside and inside the duct.Cancere was as ;arge as a small orange.First 2 lymph nodes was positive also. Rest (6) was okay. Left breast removed. I have been through the chemo and now part way through radiation. 5 days a week. Hormonal treatment is next, but that is just taking pills at home, or that is the way I understand it now.
I Saw 3 different cancer drs. before I selected one. Most of the time you will find that the do the same in treatments. One place was a well recognized center, but the distance was too far for me, with Fibro and CFS also. But what they recommended is being done here locally.
Chemo was 2 different chemicals used for a set of treatment, and second set (after 1st) was completed, used two different chemicals. My home was set up for my convience and that helped a lot. We all react differently to chemo and doctors also decide on which chems they will use for each period of time and how often you get the chemo.
Radiation is a "piece of cake". I have good news that all my tests, MRIs, bone scans, etc. does not show any cancer anywhere. Althought radiation does not give us 100% cure, my dr. says that without it I would have a 30 to 35% chance of it returning without the radiation. I forget the percentage with having it, but lots lower.
I have adverse reactions to many medications myself. I hardly used anything for pain during all of this. Same for living with Fibro.CFIDS. My Dr. had me use L-Glutamine Powder (Put in water). I also used Advil Liqui-Gel tabs (OTC). Powder is found in health food stores. It took the edge off pain only.
Do not take anything with out your Drs. advise. But you might mention this to your Dr. I need to check with mine on the Advil. They know I use it, but it might not be good for long term use! My pain has incereased because the chemo is out of my system. Chemo made my fibro not as bad, now I am back to "normal". I do have more energy now.
I mentioned every body change to my Dr. No matter how minor, just to be on the safe side. Talk to your Dr. and see what is recommended in your case. Also most get constipated easily with chemo. See what to take for that. if it occurs.
My "Main Medicine" was a positive attitude. I quickly told everyone that only positive things was to be spoken in my home. I was surprised that I did not have a bad reaction to this cancer, mentally. Also the love and warmth from everyone seems to have healing powers. No one complained about things as much. Life is good! Past Christmas was so beautiful. Not as many gists nor fancy spreads, but lots of love and laughter. We all look at life differently now.
I have not checked the Cancer board for a while. If you want to contact me, post on Chit-chat board. I go there more.
MANY BLESSINGS...and...love and laughter............Susan [This Message was Edited on 02/22/2008]

Breast Cancer

A good friend of mine is suffering from breast cancer as well. She's had surgery twice; it came back once, and this recent time, they didn't remove all of it. From the research I've done, I recommended a lot of the same things to her as the first posters mentioned, and a couple other things:
Liquid Multivitamin - Nutritional immune support
B-Complex Vitamins - To reduce stress
Mangosteen & Noni Juices - High level of antioxidants to support the immune system
Camu Camu Powder - 1 of the best Vitamin C supplements
Digestive Enzymes with L-Glutamine - pain & digestive support
Liquid Chlorophyll - To cleanse and build the blood
Yew-360 Ago Ase - Herbal immune system support to help fight the cancer and balance negative effects of chemo
Aloe Capsules - To cleanse the colon
Other helpful herbs: red clover, ginseng, sarsaparilla, echinacea, hyssop
And keep a positive attitude. Studies show that helps as well. The more you keep telling yourself you're going to be well, and believing you're going to be well, the better your chances are for getting past this cancer. Make sure you drink plenty of water too.

Hello everyone! I have not been able to get on this board for many many months. Don't know why.
Well I did not have to have chemo or radiation. Thank God for that. I do have to take Arimidex for several years. I have surely been blessed by my Lord! I praise him everyday for his mercy and great love for me. My scans showed no Cancer anyplace in my body,Thank you Lord! My Dr said that was sooo rare, it almost never happens! You see what God can do ,If we turn it over to him? Thanks for posting to me Love Shirley [This Message was Edited on 06/12/2008]
