Q: How many with cancer have CFIDS/ME?

I've heard CFIDS/ME can lead to cancer because so much research is tending that way, and EBV is a known candidate for certain kinds of cancer.

Maybe it's because our immune systems cannot control the cancer cells that develop in almost everyone; maybe there's a big clue here regarding what or how CFIDS/ME tends to work in our bodies.

I'm being evaluated for a certain cancer, but it runs in my family, so I keep a close watch for it, and of course early detection is a key.

To all of you who are battling with cancer, my heart goes out to you, and I'll be sending my version of prayer: a white healing light to hold you in serenity so your body will respond to treatment and you will be healed permanently.

Love and compassion,

CFS -ME & Cancer

I'm Dx with FMS/CFS -ME and have been battling an infection in my intestine for the last year. Antibiotics x2 have wore me down. You noted that you are being screened for a certain type of cancer; may I know what it is and it's possible connection to CFS -ME?

I also have a a genetic link to stomache cancer and I'm concerned. Any information is greatly appreciated.

chronic fatigue and cancer

ok so two people close to me have had surgery recently due to cancer and both have been chronically fatigued for some time

i wonder how many people get lumped into the ME (chronic fatigue) syndrome wastepaper basket and end up with wrong dx with possible fatal outcomes at worst or at best delayed dx and a worsened prognosis?

we know that certain cancers can be caused by viral infections and i wonder that i may have an infectious virus that may be passed on and in some cause cancer

we also are aware that wpi are finding a pattern of cancer in long term cfids ME patients and that there are cancers found in those posted on the cfids memorial list

perhaps i'm just upset at the moment and thinking about this more than i should but i would be interested to hear what others think please

my heart also goes out to all those with cancer

Ovarian Cancer after years with CFS/ME

Hi,

I never knew I'd be posting about cancer. However, last spring I was having abdominal pains and after they didn't go away for a long time, I told my doc. We tried several things and it got worse, so I got some ultrasounds, and found masses. I had surgery 2 weeks ago - removing uterus, cervix, both ovaries, both fallopian tubes, my appendix, the omentum and some lymphs. Lab reports advanced ovarian cancer. I've had CFS for 24 years.

Who knows what the connection between CFS and cancer ultimately will turn out to be. One thing I am sure of: if I had trusted my primary care physician more, I would have talked to him earlier. Reluctance to reveal symptoms, learned by bitter experience, can cost you valuable months in the fight against cancer.

If anyone knows someone with longstanding CFS who has gone through chemo, I'd sure appreciate hearing about it.

hereditary

Spoke with a physicist that has a passion for creating what people need to heal their own bodies. Told her once that I had a hereditary predisposition to cancer. She stated no one does. Then I REALLY started learning some incredibly fun stuff.

The liver detoxifies the body. So if the liver is constantly kept clean of toxins, it ought to be able to work efficiently.
