National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and other good info
|
Here is the tollfree number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in the US:
1-800-273-TALK (8255) or call 911
In the UK: HopeLine UK: 0870 170 4000 or call your emergency number equivalent to 911 (I think it's 999 there)
Also, here are some really good websites for discussion, information and help.
* http://www.suicideinfo.ca/ (in Canada) This site also has a quick-link to phone numbers of all the Crisis Centres in the country.
* http://www.yellowribbon.org/ (US, teen suicide prevention experts)
* http://www.save.org/ (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education)
* http://www.papyrus-uk.org/ (in the UK) Prevention of Youth Suicide
* http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org From their website: "The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis. Para obtener asistencia en espaƱol durante las 24 horas, llame al 1-888-628-9454
Why should I call the Lifeline? From immediate suicidal crisis to information about mental health, crisis centers in our network are equipped to take a wide range of calls. Some of the reasons to call 1-800-273-TALK are listed below. - Call to speak with someone who cares - Call if you feel you might be in danger of hurting yourself - Call to find referrals to mental health services in your area - Call to speak to a crisis worker about someone you're concerned about."
Edited to add UK information and to reorganize website info.
Please keep safe tonight! nature

I've been battlind depression, off and on, for 25 years. (luckily, most of it off). But it never ceases to amaze me how dibilliating it can be. Last night I got 1 1/2 hours sleep, worrying about running out of money (at 61).

medication for depression
|
Having looked at other web-sites I must say I have been shocked to read some of the stories regarding the drug MIRTAZAPINE in use for the treatment of depression,I have been on this drug for 15 month 45mg and I must say I have had no side effects other than a slight dizziness first thing in the morning and now my psychiatrist as suggested I stay on this drug permanent which I have agreed as it keeps me from depression and I can enjoy life. I would like to hear what other readers say on the use of this drug

April4th God did not give this beautiful life to you to say NO now, you are wrong about that, i still say pray and it DOES work, but you have to pray more than once, you have to humbly ask God for his help. He is there, watching you, he never leaves your side, don't ever think he is not listening, i am 50 years old and i have asked God for alot of help, sometimes i feel like i get it and sometimes i feel like i don't, but in the long run of it all, on down the road i can see that the help i asked for was delivered just not in the way i expected. As far as depression, EVERYBODY gets depressed one time or another in their lives, it doesn't care if you are black, white, green or blue, go see a doctor and discuss your problems with him and see if he won't give you some meds. that will help you. Good luck and i will pray for you.
