Question about No sugar dietfastshakes

My doctor gave me a no sugar diet shake. She wants me to bring my sugar down. She wants me to lose 20 lbs. I haven't had a blood glucose tolerance test yet. I've been testing with bs monitor. The average has gone down from 158, to 131 2 hrs after a meal. A meal is usually protein like 2 eggs, milk with coffee, 1/4 orange or 2 of these no sugar dietshakes, mostly protein, about 100 calories each. I'm walking at work about 1/2 mile a day. Will this get my insulin working - get insulin into the cells - from insulin resistance?? Am I pre-diabetic? I'm 62 years old.

Hi Judy

It's hard to say if you are but your diet seems to be in good order. Have you heard anything else since your last post? Hang in there, I'm sure it will work out in your favor. Warmest regards, BHN.

try this

There is a product out that comes from Australia that uses lupin its all natural and you add it to your cooking so you do not have to change the way you eat. I have used it and have lost weight and by sugars are now down its called Lupin8 and they have a website as well lupin8.com

Question about No sugar dietfastshakes

I'm not sure about no-sugar diet shakes. Do you use milk or water to make the shakes? (If milk, how much and what % milkfat?) I always watch the carbs in everything instead of the calories, but I might be doing it wrong.

I have heard that the best diet to lose weight is the No Sugar - No Flour diet. This is Dr. Gott's diet, a doctor who writes a newspaper health column. He states to read labels and anything that contains any sugar or any flour is off limits. I guess that's because you get a lot of carbs from sugar and flour.

I'm nearing 59 and I'm a type 2 diabetic on oral meds and insulin.
