How to Find Information on Availability of H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Vaccine

November 6, 2009

The Harvard School of Public Health reported Nov 6 that their national survey found 70% of adults who've tried to get the H1N1 vaccine for themselves or their children have been unable to do so; and 49% of those who tried to find information about vaccine availability could not find it. Also, while the CDC expects delivery of 8 million doses this week, and suggests "things will get better," it makes no predictions beyond that.

To keep up on the latest vaccine availability information for your area, go to www.Flu.gov and CLICK ON YOUR STATE ON THE MAP.

• This takes you to the Flu.gov FLU PAGE FOR YOUR STATE.

• Each state offers two FLU SHOT LOCATOR links - one for H1N1, and one for seasonal flu.

• Then you should be able to find info on vaccine availability and any flu shot clinic locations/numbers, dates and times – whether by zip code, local health department, county, community or borough.

Some states, such as Nebraska, let you to search for vaccine availability by county & facility, and suggest you subscribe to an e-mail notification system so you’ll know when availability information is updated. Some, such as Ohio, are offering online preregistration by county & clinic. But in other areas you may simply need to keep returning to the site or calling the contact numbers.

Disappointed

I'm really disappointed to see ProHealth take any sort of pro- or even neutral stance on vaccinations. So many CFS/FM sufferers are in this state because of vaccine injury (myself included). I'm going to take articles here now with much more of a cautious approach and note which CFS doctors are promoting vaccines. Something is wrong here.
