It is getting harder and harder to find a doctor that will file insurance. I do not have money to pay hundreds up front. I got into severe debt when I came down with CFS 22 years ago because so many things weren't even known about CFS, so it all was experimental. Can someone explain to me why so many years later doctors who specialize in the area of medicine still aren't taking insurance?

Please....anyone who has a good doctor in the DFW area for ME?CFS....especially if they take insurance....please post. Take time to help your fellow suffers out. Thank you kindly!

Im with you Kathie. I went into debt 22 years ago trying to be diagnosed. It cost me my marriage and credit. Now I'm in my 50's I have relapsed and need to find doctors again to help me gain control. Almost all the doctors in Dallas area are cash only. I have to find a doctor who will accept insurance. I can't go into my golden years even more in debt. Ticks me off doctors and insurance companies are taking advantage of the diseases we have just because they aren't mainstream.

I have found a clinic where all three of the caregivers (nurse practitioners) are VERY fibro-friendly!! They listen to me, prescribe meds for pain as needed, and are not afraid to send me out to other doctors (can't remember the term....darn fibro fog). I am extremely happy with them! The clinic is Healthwise in Alpena, Michigan.

I drive all the way from Tampa for this lady. After 3 previous doctors, I finally found this one that takes her time with you, believes in you, treats you with respect, and treats you! I love her because she understands my desire to stay as natural as possible. She also did tons of blood work to identify/rule out underlying issues:

Stay away from Adam Rosen, M.D. (rheumatologist) Clearwater, FL. He has a serious God-complex, will scold you for using the internet to research and ask questions, will scold you for asking for any testing that he has not already ordered (saying it is unnecessary, such as testing for viruses) and if he needs to leave for a speaking engagement, he WILL rush your visit and leave you sitting there not believing he just left you sitting there! He also will not agree to continue seeing you if you do not use his pharmaceutical recommendations - thinks natural remedies are hogwash and you must not want to get well if you won't take pharma. He also does not believe in treating FMS with narcotics, so if you are in need of pain management, this is not your man
