Several times the term "push through it" was used" in this video.
This is the sort of advice that is given in sports training and where sports trainers give advice to people with FM. "Pushing through pain" is totally inappropriate for Fibromyalgia. This is like telling a person with ME to push through the fatigue. If pushing through pain works for you then you do not have true fibromyalgia. This video fails to explain Susan's symptoms adequately in order to accept a diagnosis of FM.

This inadequate definition of FM is becoming a problem, where thousands of people are being diagnosed with FM when their work-up should be more thorough to identify what they do suffer from.

It also reinforces the idea that FM is a temporary condition - an idea which insurers are quick to claim.

In addition it also reinforces the belief that fibromyalgia is JUST a condition where people feel heightened pain i.e. it is just a perceptual difference. The reality is that people with FM suffer a set of linked symptoms, the main ones being musculo-skeletal stiffness, wide spread pain, muscle cramps, cognitive dysfunction and numerous hypersenstivities.
