N-Acetyl Cysteine
N-Acetyl Cysteine is the pre-acetylized form of the simple amino acid Cysteine. N-Acetyl Cysteine is a powerful antioxidant and a premier anti-toxin and immune support substance. See: N-Acetyl Cysteine

Naturopathy
A form of health care that uses diet, herbs, and other natural methods and substances to deal with illness. The goal is to produce a healthy body state without the use drugs by stimulating innate defenses.

Nervous System
All the nerve cells and nerve tissues in an organism, including in the vertebrates, the brain, spinal cord, nerves, etc.

Neurotransmitter
A chemical that transmits nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another. Major neurotransmitters include acetylcholine, dopamine, beta-endorphin, norepinephrine, and serotinin.

Niacin (Vitamin B-3)
A vitamin important in carbohydrate metabolism, formation of testosterone and other hormones, formation of red blood cells and maintaining the integrity of all cells. Helps body utilize protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Necessary for a healthy nervous system and digestive system. It also lowers elevated blood cholesterol levels when taken in large amounts of more than 1,000 milligrams a day.

Norepinepherine
An important brain neurotransmitter which plays a role in primitive drives and emotions such as motivation, aggression and acquisition of food and sex, and body movement. It is sometimes called noradrenaline and is, in fact, the brain's version of adrenaline.

Nucleic Acids
Any of a group of essential complex organic acids found in all living cells, the two major types of DNA and RNA.

Nutraceutical
A food- or nutrient based product or supplement designed and/or used for a special clinical and /or therapeutic purpose.

Nutrient
A substance that is needed by the body to maintain life and health.
