Planing on a hysterectomy soon.
I'm having a hysterectomy next month and mostly will have my ovaries removed also so I'm looking into HRT. Anyone have any info for me? I've been looking online but can't seam to find much info on different kinds of HRT. I like to research drugs before I take them.

I had a total hyst back in 2001 and this web site helped me a lot. They are called www.hystersisters.com It's either .com or .org I can't remember which but they are wonderful . The site is full of answers. As for the HRT's please be careful . I took primarin fpr seven years. When me latest doctor found out that I'd been on it that long he went nuts. He said that anything over 2 years puts you at a risk for cancer. Now I don't know if that is true or not but I don't take them anymore. And the hot flashes are hell on earth but after six months off they are as bad as in the beganing of 2008. Mostly now I have problems with dryness (vaginal) . But I just found out about vitamin E suppositories so I'm hoping that that will save my sex life (so is my husband);) Get yourself a pillow for your tummy after the surgery . And I know this will be hard to do but walk as soon as the nurses say and walk as much as you can afterwards . Don't over due but walking will help you. So do drugs. Take care and I'm sorry that you have to go through this . Although it is kinda nice not having to worry about periods. =) D.

mom2many - FM?
Hey Mom2many! I think I've seen you on the FM/CFS board. I have them both. I just wanted to tell you a little about my hysterectomy and oopherectomy. I have the hyst in Jan 08. I went to my mom's house to recover (I'm 28 - still need my mom!) I worked from home during that time on a laptop but slept a lot through the day. I had a vaginal/Laproscopic hysterectomy so the pain wasn't too bad. I did NOTHING but walk to the kitchen, bathroom and that's it. I stopped taking the narcotics after two days. I did use the Tramadol and it helped me sleep for the two weeks. The best news ever is....I went into remission after three weeks of pure rest!!!! No fatigue, no pain and no fever... I felt NORMAL!!!! I stayed in remission for 4 months. It was the greatest! I'm getting my blood worked up today. My estrogen in very low. I will probably start taking some estrogen soon. Good luck with your surgery! Rest, rest and rest. Oh and 7 kids! Wow! That's amazing! Wendysj

how about researching a natural way?
There is a natural substance that MIGHT, just might, help you if you are still needing an answer. I would call the people directly and ask them if they had something that would work better; however, from the results I have been hearing over the board, there is a physicist that has created a formulation designed to get the body to heal itself as best as possible. sarah [smcpelkey@yahoo.com]
