Hi wondering are there any other transplant patients with peri menopausal symptons? and what can be taken for relief, my gp recently gave me desogestrel but chemist says they will interact with my other drugs. i will check of course with kidney consultant, but would really value some advice fron another woman with similar. thanks.

Sorry I am not a transplant patient, but when you talk w/your consultant you might ask his/her opinion of a transdermal (applied to fatty areas of skin) bioidentical estrogen. These are metabolized much less by the liver (where most drugs are metabolized) & therefore interfere much less.

Many of us use compounded transdermal hormones of various types. But if you're a Big Pharma fan, there are some patches that are applied weekly to a similar effect.
