New symptom(s)-Please help!

(newbie) I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 14. I was admitted to the hospital for a few days & many tests were performed. Nothing was really found, so I was given a diagnosis of IBS, Colitis & Spastic Colon. I'm 36 now & I've dealt with it for all these years. My "normal" routine is no bowel movement for around 10 days to 2 weeks, then I just pray I'm at home when "it" hits. When an episode occurs, it's roughly 2 hours in the bathroom. Ok, I can deal with that. Not happy about it, it limits my life, but I've learned how to adapt & be ready.
My new problem is when an episode happens, I get *severely* hot-I can feel heat creeping up my face. If I look in a mirror, my face is blood red. I checked my temperature last time & it was 100.9. I feel as if I'm going to pass out. I shake & have chills also. These things are all new to me. This has happened 3 times. Everything else is the same, but these (new) things are really troubling. Anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm scared! Does this sound like IBS? Or could it have progressed to something more/worse? Thank you.

Hi

My first question is what does your doctor say about having bowel movements every 10 days to 2 weeks (constipation) and then the extremes you go through in the bathroom when eventually having the bowel movement. My fear is that you may end up ripping and causing fissures to the sides of your rectum with such a large hard stool passing through and then might eventually develop hemmorhoids too.

Everything I have been told (whether you have IBS with constipation or diahrea) is that fiber is major for us and drinking lots of water (which enables the fiber to do its work). Please talk to your doctor as fissures and such are not pleasant and I so want you to feel better than you are. Best of luck and many hugs.

K-73 On Dr. Oz

Dr. Oz has so many different things on his show and truthfully 10 days to 2 weeks to have a bowel movement according to Dr. Oz is way too long. So it would appear to be actually unhealthful for you. Just wanted to mention seeing that on Dr. Oz and hope that also gets you to the Dr.

Let us know what is decided as it may help someone else here who is suffering the same as you. Good luck and I hope all turns out okay.
