MIRALAX warning

I was given Miralax years ago when it was still in trials. Little did I know that all of the gas and cramping it gave me was caused by lactase contained in the Miralax. I am very lactose intolerant. The same GI Dr that told me I was very lactose intolerant gave me the Miralax to try, he obviously failed to check the label for ingredients, for lactase is clearly listed (or at least it was listed in the Miralax preparation I took).
Lactase is a simple sugar found in dairy products! Lactose intolerant people cannot breakdown lactase in the intestines, therefore they get cramping, gas and diarrhea.

In case you are thinking about trying Miralax, remember if you are lactose intoloerant it may make you sick.

Thanks for the warning

Thanks for the warning. In all my doctors' files under allergies, (and with the pharmacy) and on the paper I bring to each visit with my medications, supplements and allergies, UNDER ALLERGIES I list LACTOSE INTOLERANT. I think anyone that has that problem should definitely put it as an allergy for all doctors because like in Miralax, lactose intolerance can be very painful and some cannot tolerate it.

Thanks for the warning.

I just got back on Miralax and I just wanted to say that I was shocked when I found out that if you have a RX for this you can get the generic (Polyethylene Glycol) and a 3 month size bottle is only about $27.00. The name brand OTC is about $14.00 for a 14 day size bottle. That is about a $60.00 savings!

So if you need Miralax get a script for it and than generic.
