Acacia Fiber comments
Has anyone tried Acacia fiber by Heather's IBS? I bought it a long time ago and set it aside when it arrives. A few weeks ago I thought oh heck, I will try it. I started with 1tsp morning and night , mixed in water. I am gradually increased the amount. According to the package, the ideal is to get up to 5 tablespoons a day. My problem has always been constipation. Well, I can report I love it. Since using it, I feel like it completely cleaned me inside and feel so much better in every way. I used to have small flares where I had knots in my shoulder blades and even on other parts of my body, like in the arch of my feet. Just sore knots. They might be swollen lymph nodes. I will be using this product forever. I read where they say your health is affected alot by your digestive system. I believe that now. I would be interested if anyone has used Acacia fiber. Thanks

Hi, I post about it further down at the bottom of this board. I use it daily, I drink a cup of instant coffee and put it in there to start. Stir it together before adding water. I have used it with plain water for diarrhea and bloating and also for constipation, it has no taste and is wonderful. I have some at work to use when I need it too. I also use their peppermint caps and teas, the books are wonderful, you learn so much from them. It's worth the cost and I can't live without it either!! (As far as the muscle knots - when you feel them, massage them out. I started physical therapy and learned that when muscles stay knotted for so long, they build up scar tissue under them. You can feel it when you rub the muscle out - the feel like little gristles (sp?) under there rollling around and they don't go away). Glad someone else has tried this and found relief too!

Is it like Benefiber?
This is my 1st post/search on this topic. I just bought a big jar of Benefiber and have started putting a big Tablespoon of it in my morning coffee. I can taste it just a little bit but not much. They say take 3 tbsp per day but I dont take that much, probably half in my coffee and then I dont take anymore later. I dont know if I should have a cup of tea later and have another big tablespoon in that? I read that Peppermint tea is good. I am just wondering if this Heathers is any better than the OTC benefiber? I recently had a colonoscopy to rule out other things and they said IBS since they didnt find anything. I think that is what usually happens if they dont find anything. i had an endoscopy last Spring and they did find some erosions but not ulcers. Thanks.

Benefiber vs Acai...
HI, all, I'm new here but I have IBS-C as well and am constantly battling my gut issues. I have tried Miralax (per my gastro guy) but it takes at least 2 days to get through me. I like the Acai powder and peppermint gels as well from Heather's IBS store. Sometimes our issues can also be caused by a lack of digestive enzymes (which most gastro's poo poo =:O FWIW, I copied the info below from the Benefiber site: appears it contains wheat dextrin so if you have any concerns about gluten intolerance, the Acai might be better. 1. What type of fiber is Benefiber? Benefiber contains wheat dextrin, a natural soluble fiber. 2. How is Benefiber different from other bulk fiber supplements? Unlike some other bulk fiber supplements, Benefiber contains a 100% natural fiber. it's taste-free, sugar-free, dissolves completely in noncarbonated beverages and soft foods, and won't thicken. IBS-D
My doctor had me using Citrucel capsules and the fiber is Methyl cellulose (or methylcellulose) and is not wheat dextrin, but for me personally it was not effective (it can be used for constipation or diahrea). Ultimately, I have to use prescription meds when the diahrea starts.

Acacia Fiber
Gosh I am sorry I did not follow this thread to respond. The difference I find with Acacia fiber is you get no bloating or discomfort. It is just really easy. I have tried the others and they just did not agree with me. You can read about Acacia fiber on the web - if you search for IBS and Acacia fiber.
