This six-month “proof-of-concept study shows that fluoxetine [Prozac] tends to reduce the formation of new enhancing lesions in patients with MS.” During the last 4 months, 63% of treated patients had no new areas of inflammation, vs. 26% of those on placebo. Researchers have pinpointed a protein “boss” (SATB1) in breast cancer cells that controls gene expression and determines whether the cancer will spread. The more SATB1, the more aggressive the tumor.
