A trial of D-Ribose supplementation is recruiting individuals who are experiencing fatigue associated with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. The trial ("D-Ribose for Fatigue in Subjects with Fibromyalgia") is directed by Leslie J Crofford, MD, a specialist in fibromyalgia and autoimmune diseases at the University of Kentucky. It is recruiting at Dr. Crofford’s clinic and at 7 other sites in California, Florida, Maryland, and North Carolina.
This 12-week trial involving daily supplementation with D-Ribose is “a phase IIa, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center, multiple dose study of the dietary supplement D-ribose vs placebo.”
See the ClinicalTrials.gov listing of this trial for more information on inclusion and exclusion criteria, locations, and links to clinic contacts at www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01315210
For background information about ribose, see “Ribose: A major component of the ‘energy molecule’ ATP,” by nutritient scientist Brian Tanzer, MS, CNS, Sep 14, 2011

Just a heads-up - when I tried D-Ribose (Corvalen), my FMS pain went through-the-roof! Hope it helps others, but you might want to exercise caution before you sign up - just a thought. note: I am VERY reactive to any stimulant, can't handle coffee, etc., so maybe there's some connection there.
