Recruiting in NJ - Study to learn how past flu vaccination or flu infection affects immune response to vaccination   Not Yet Rated ProHealth.com • October 25, 2008 Tweet previous article next article Hackensack (NJ) University Medical Center is recruiting healthy volunteers ages 21 to 55 to measure the immune response to flu vaccination after previous flu vaccination and infection with flu virus. The study will involve a flu vaccination, a PET-CT scan within a week after vaccine, and cytokine profiling via blood samples both 2-6 weeks and 10-12 months after vaccination. (Cytokines are secreted by immune cells that have encountered an infectious agent, to activate more immune cells to increase response to the agent. Noninvasive PET/CT scans are used to image molecular cell activity.)
