Editor's Comment: Chronic Lyme Disease, or PTLDS (post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome), is often diagnosed as ME/CFS. The symptoms overlap because a similar immune process is underway. It is not surprising, given the current orientation of the medical community, that patients with PTLDS are frequently treated as if it is "all in their heads."

Chronic Lyme disease is a highly controversial catch-all term for a host of long-lasting symptoms that may or may not stem from prior infection with the bacterium that causes acute Lyme disease.
