Fibromyalgia patients who live within traveling distance of Portland, Oregon, and might wish to participate in an FM research study are invited to register as potential volunteers with the Oregon Health & Science University Fibromyalgia Research Team.
This group of specialized clinicians, headed by Robert Bennett, MD, FRCP, FACP, FACR, has been involved in Fibromyalgia patient care and research since 1980. Their continuing work contributes to advances in clinical care, generates journal articles providing a better understanding of Fibromyalgia in the medical community, and supports interest in opportunities for development of new drug and other therapies.

The team assures patients that registration will not commit you to participate in any of their studies. But once you’re in the database a study coordinator will contact you by e-mail or phone as new studies become open for enrollment.
They also suggest that FM patients consider taking part in a study only if the description of the research protocol is of especial interest. A member of the team will be available to discuss the pros and cons of any study you are interested in. All research protocols are approved and monitored by an independent Ethics Committee for Human Research Studies.
