Included in newly announced awards of $16.98 million in American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funding for research at the University of Indiana is a $237,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health for a project directed by neurobiologist Karmen Yoder, PhD, IU School of Medicine assistant professor of radiology.

Dr. Yoder’s project (“Assessment of the Dopamine System in Fibromyalgia”) will employ sophisticated PET imaging techniques “to study the central mechanisms of pain in the brain” of fibromyalgia patients.

To review all ARRA-funded projects at IU, see the University’s Stimulus Funding web page - www.stimulus.iu.edu/awards/projects/index.shtml
