Issued in the wee hours of November 3, 2009, Dr. David Bell’s latest free Lyndonville News e-newsletter (http://www.davidsbell.com/index.htm#Latest) announces that the revived Lyndonville ME/CFS Research Group has already initiated four projects, the first being a presentation Dr. Bell will give Sunday, Dec 6 in Batavia, New York “Between Rochester and Buffalo,” fee $10 to cover costs.

Dr. Bell states he “will be happy to present this talk to any community, providing a local group or individual pays airfare and lodging. It might be a good way to get support groups active again.”

In addition to covering key points of the WPI Science paper and Dr. Peterson’s testimony at the CFSAC meeting, Dr. Bell says his presentation will offer his “opinions about treatment options that may open up in the future.”

Other Topics Covered in This Historic Newsletter

• Why it seems at this point that several tests, not one, would be needed “to tell you if the virus is active in your system,” and what they would be.

• Points made about the Science paper at the CFSAC meeting by National Cancer Institute virologist Dr. Coffin, one of which “made my socks roll up and down all by themselves.”

• A summary of a “Theory of Mechanism of XMRV & ME/CFS,” which has been circulating for many years and was once called the “X Factor Theory.”

• Dr. Bell’s thinking that if XMRV turns out to be the ‘Puppet Master’ the illness should be named XAND – Xmrv Associated Neuroimmune Disease.

• Other projects the revived Lyndonville Research Group has already initiated.

• Dr. Bell’s view on whether patients should try to invest in a commercial test now.
