Yes/No Questions Difficult to Answer
While I find your newsletter interesting, I definitely Do Not like questions with yes/no choices. For instance, the question: "Does your doctor ask you what supplements you are taking?" assumes that I see only one doctor and wait to be asked the question(s). What if, as in my case, you see two MDs, one a holistic nutrition/wellness practitioner and MD, the other a primary care MD in an allopathic health center?
My own practice as a patient (80 this year) with varying needs is to manage the health team I have chosen and try to keep the professionals on my team informed of all significant developments.
It's a lot of work, but I see health care as an ongoing learning process that is constantly in need of changing and updating. I keep records of everything - from lab tests to supplements and Rx drugs, and symptoms that arise between visits so that I'm prepared to ask questions as well as answer them.
I almost never fill out yes/no questionnaires because of their assumption that there is an easy answer for everyone, and suggest you offer space for your subscribers to give more personal answers that we can all learn from. – Marianne

Energy Medicine and Cold Lasers
I am glad to see you are doing something on alternative medicine…[See the Live Chat Q&A with alternative medicine authority Dr. William Collinge, which includes links to his writings.]
I have been working with [energy medicine] for about 4 years when a chiropractor started working with it. I am off all medication and my pain level from Fibro is zero. I was on OxyContinR plus about ten other medications for ten years because without it I could not get out of bed. All of them are gone…
I also use a cold laser diode… I use it whenever my pain may start up and it is amazing how it just knocks out the pain. My mind is starting to return also.
Pills only mask the symptoms; they don’t fix the cause. I would also like to see articles on homeopathy. It acutely helps to remove the causes, and get your body to work for you not against you. This country needs to open up to what the rest of the world uses and down play the pills as the only thing to treat illness. They are so toxic, in some cases they do more harm than good. – Pat

If you have struggled with getting Lyme diagnosis or treatment, or just care about this issue, we need to carefully scrutinize this action plan. This is a one-time opportunity….This committee…is required to only have ONE open public hearing with public input opportunity…Therefore, those among you who can participate and present your stories at this one meeting need to do so. - M

Click here to read the entire post, which contains contact info and links that Lyme patients can use to make sure the IDSA (Infectious Diseases Society of America) knows that “the public is interested, watching, monitoring, and participating in how they handle this.”

Another Benefit of Diet Rich In Magnesium
Re: Dr. Charles Lapp’s mention in his recent Live Chat that magnesium is one of his favorite supplements for ME/CFS & FM.
A new study indicates magnesium can reduce your risk of gallstones. See “Integrative Way: Make magnesium part of your diet,” in the Sunday, April 13 Sacramento Bee – Sue
