In a recent article in Body & Soul magazine, Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D., stated, "Most FM/CFS pain can be eliminated." This can be done through both natural and pharmaceutical remedies. Effective natural treatments may include ginger tea, topical red pepper (capsaicin) cream, glucosamine, essential fatty acids, acupuncture, massage, bodywork, and homeopathic remedies. Pharmaceuticals worth a try include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), COX-2 inhibitors, muscle relaxants, topical anesthetics, and narcotics in some cases.
