UC Davis Run Against Pain April 23, 2005

UC Davis Division of Pain Medicine. 5th Annual Run Against Pain/ 10K Championship will be held Saturday, April 23 at UC Davis Medical Center, MIND Institute 2825 50th Street, Sacramento to raise funds to benefit research for treatment of chronic pain. Entrants may participate in a 10K or 5K run/walk or a half-mile run for children. The half-mile run for children 9 and under begins at 8:05 a.m., children 10-12 at 8:15 a.m. An invitational gurney race will take place at 8:25 a.m., with the 10K and 5K run/walk starting at 8:35 a.m. plus Music, Refreshments, Awards, Goody Bags and T-shirts. Registration is $23 general, $15 children before April 18; race day registration is $30 general beginning at 7 a.m. On April 22, Fleet Feet Sports at 2311 J St., will accept late registration from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free forum: A question and answer forum on pain management will be held after the race at 10:30am, at the UC Davis MIND Institute Auditorium, 2825 50th Street. Dr. Scott Fishman, chief of the division of pain medicine, will lead the forum themed "The Pain Doctor Is In." An art exhibit of work created by chronic pain sufferers and arranged by Mark R. Collen will be displayed in the MIND lobby. (916) 492-8966.
