Time:
Saturday, November 10
10 am to 1 pm

Sponsor:
Rocky Mountain CFIDS/Fibromyalgia Association

Location:
National Jewish Medical and Research Center
1400 Jackson Street
Denver, CO

The Featured Speaker:
James F. Jones, MD, Research Medical Officer, Chronic Viral Diseases Branch, Division of Viral and Rickettsial Diseases, CDC, Atlanta Georgia.

Years ago, Dr. Jones was among the first to suggest that a virus – specifically Epstein-Barr virus, the cause of mononucleosis – might explain Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. At the time, “failure to find persistent evidence of Epstein-Barr or any other virus in the blood of CFS patients” led Dr. Jones and others to look elsewhere. But a renewed surge of viral research (such as the recent study indicating the possibility of a chronic enterovirus-CFS connection) is very much in the spotlight, and Dr. Jones is well positioned to provide an update.
