Profile of Dr. Richard N. Podell, MD, MPH

Dr. Richard Podell is a clinical professor at New Jersey's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has special interests in stress related disorders, clinical nutrition, chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and fibromyalgia. His “functional medicine” approach involves integration of standard medical therapies with alternative techniques to maximize support for the body’s healing systems. Dr. Podell has published 45 peer-review medical journal articles and many patient education articles, and appears frequently on television and radio as a medical expert emphasizing nutritional and other natural therapies. He is an attending physician at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, and a member of the Expert Panel on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for the New Jersey State Department of Health and the New Jersey Academy of Medicine.
