Blood supply XMRV testing: 'Time to move forward' Red Cross says

  [ 8 votes ]   [ 2 Comments ] • January 21, 2011

The Wall Street Journal Health Blog’s ME/CFS tracker, Amy Docker Marcus, has published an update titled “XMRV: Testing the Blood Supply” ending with Red Cross reassurance that planned studies will be “moving forward.”

Last week a task force created to investigate the possibility of blood supply contamination by donations by unwitting XMRV “carriers” issued a report on the issues involved, and current plans to study them.(1) While that report is long & dense, Dockser Marcus summarizes the key take-away points succinctly for lay readers.

Read her report and scroll down to view all reader comments and add your own HERE. Continued media coverage of ME/CFS issues does reflect measures of interest and “likes.”
