If your cholesterol is a bit on the high side and you’re looking for a medication-free way to try and lower it, try this: instead of eating 2 or 3 large meals a day, switch to 6 smaller ones. Several small, short-term studies have shown that “grazers” tend to have lower cholesterol levels than “gorgers.” Now a large study of British adults shows much the same thing. In a survey of more than 14,000 men and women, those who reported eating 6 or more times a day had significantly lower cholesterol than those who ate twice a day, even though the grazers took in more calories and fat each day.
