Because many aerobic activities require relatively low skill and are repetitive in nature, they tend to be hypnotic, meditative right-brain activities that encourage creativity. Some prefer to exercise in the morning as a way of getting started, others like to work out later in the day as a way to unwind. It doesn’t matter when or how you exercise, as long as you lose yourself in movement. Once you do, you can achieve a spiritual balance that might other wise be lacking in your life and simultaneously build daily activity into a previously inactive lifestyle. Because most people are sedentary, traditional meditative techniques, however spiritually beneficial, compound their lack of activity.
