Most people with chronic fatigue are in a posture, whether sitting or standing, that tends to reinforce fatigue. The manner in which the body is held usually reflects energy levels. When the body is slouched, shoulders slumped, and head down, diaphragmatic breathing is more difficult. Poor posture promotes shallow breathing and low energy levels. Notice while standing or sitting that when you breathe with the diaphragm, it changes your posture to expand the chest cavity. As a result of good diaphragmatic breathing, the spine becomes more erect, the shoulders are pushed back, and the head is pulled up. Energetic posture and good diaphragmatic breathing usually go hand-in-hand.
