Simply getting enough sleep each night can make the difference between a strong immune system and one that leaves you vulnerable to illness. Sleep is important for both emotional and physical health and is essential for immunity. If you miss even a single night's sleep, your immune system will suffer. In one study conducted at the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center, it was found that a lack of adequate sleep for even one night can dramatically reduce NK (Natural Killer) cell activity the following day.
