LDN Therapy

I've been researching this for myself with OA and FM and find many with Lyme and MS and many other health issues are benefitting with LDN. There are online groups such as Yahoo LDN Group and ldn.org.

always been interested

I've always been interested in it... I was signed up for a while with one of those groups a few years ago.

Have Lymies found it helps with things other than pain? How many lymies have tried it, with or without abx or herbs... or after treatment for remaining symptoms? Wondering how it could fit in with existing protocols, mainly.

Thanks.

all the best,
Victoria

LDN Therapy

I tried LDN for one year -- started during intense flare up of existing and new neuro symptoms. I did improve-but not sure if that was due to flare up just easing or the LDN. After 6 months on LDN I then started ashok's amygdala retraining.. candida diet, a few buhner's herbs/supplements and had all my silver fillings removed (over next 6 months). I did get better. I ended up going off of LDN since I had increased menstrual cramping and cycles--was diagnosed with uterine polyp at end of 1 year of LDN. I feel like it was related to LDN but not sure. I stopped it since I thought the amygdala retraining and candida diet was biggest help and was concerned about hormonal affects. They do use LDN as a fertility drug (some docs do). Did well for a year off LDN-recent flare up of symptoms I have not had in a year (like my eyes which worries me)-- so I"m trying to increase the amygdala retraining (ashok gupta) AND I'm thinking about going back on LDN but still debating. Also considering continued yeast treatment (diflucan-I still tested positive for yeast even after intense diet and nystatin). Also considering my last resort abx- as you can see from my other post labeled Dr. J. In theory LDN can help modulate the immune system. Over past years before optic neuritis I took Moducare Sterinol and found that worked for me for several years and did modulate my immune system. (I decided to go off moducare-was good on most FMS symptoms but had bad anxiety from work related stress and felt my stools were not normal on moducare.. 2 years after going off of moducare... optic neuritis/neuro symptoms hit). Sorry for long answer.. short answer .. Try LDN as you have nothing to lose-it helps alot of people and you can still continue lyme treatment while on it. (you cannot take opiods/pain killers while on LDN). You may also want consider moducare sterinol as an immune system modulator. Hope this is readable since I'm having one of those brain foggy days.
