CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE WHERE TO BUY A MATTRESS THAT IS CHEMICAL FREE. I TRIED THE ORGANIC MATTRESS AND WAS ALLERGIC. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS ALL COTTON AND WASHED. ALLERGIC TO POLYESTER, WOOL, LATEX AND ORGANIC UNWASHED MATERIAL. (MUST BE THE OILS IN THE COTTON THAT CAUSED ALLERGY)

Have you tried a hypoallergenic mattress cover? They are not made of latex. I know I had to use this for my son when he was younger. If it does haave an initial odor (I don't remember) hang it up outside for a few days first).

Then use a washed mattress pad over this mattress cover- so it's not slippery & plasticy feeling. I think I purchased it at Bed Bath & Beyond? (years ago!) I hope they still make them.

The last time I bought a mattress, I asked for the floor model. It had been out-gassing for over six months.

I am chemically sensitive and it never made me ill. I buy all furniture second-hand or buy the floor models, which has usually out-gassed.

I am sleeping on an air mattress that is now broken. I seem to be allergic to the covers as well. I am not sure if they sell 100% cotton covers. I will see if BBB has them. thanks for your advice. I am still looking for soemthing to buy to sleep on..what a battle!

I thought of that, however, who knows what is on those and who has been on it. ugh
I can look around and see what they have.
