What meds help you with your MCS
|
Headaches I take Midrin, for nausea I have meclizine for when it's not bad and phenergan for when it's really bad. So far this is all I have found it help me get thru a day, I wish I could find something fast acting that helps when your having a reaction.

Milk Thistle from health food store

I've found this to be very helpful. I'm working up to 600 mg for a total twice a day. Take care... :-)

MCS

I've pretty much narrowed my MCS down to aldehydes. You may want to read up on Molybdenum and Pantethine. These are the only things that help me. Now I have to be very careful about fragrances cause they can make my blood pressure shoot up and could possibly cause my aneurysm to rupture.

your suggested protocol, Molybdenum and Pantethine, helped me too. I started this after reading one of your posts months ago. I am NOT totally healed, but (to date) this is the only combo that helped me. I was on the molyb and pantethine for about 6 weeks. What a difference it made! I need to get back on it. Woofmom, thanks for telling us what worked for you because it really helped me.

Aldehyde is bad stuff. And it is in practically everything in some form or fashion. When we take in more than we can excrete, we're in big trouble. A lady down the street kept having migraines and nothing helped her. I told her to try Molybdenum and Pantethine and to get rid of scented products. I also told her to stay away from phenylalanine. Her migraines have pretty much gone away.

IME, people make more progress on their MCS by figuring out their triggers & modifying their living environment, than by treating symptoms with meds. That is not a quick & easy thing to do, but it is usually the most helpful. Sorry if that seems a harsh thing to say. Supps are also helpful to some with MCS. Many with MCS have to be careful, even with the formulation of their supps. Best wishes.

n-acetyl cysteine
|
Try n-acetyl cysteine amino acid supplements, but be sure to take vitamin C along with it. On my most toxic days, it helps. If taken for a long time, zinc and copper might need to be supplemented, but I haven't tried that yet - I've only taken the n-acetyl cysteine with vitamin C. The vitamin C taken along with it will help keep it active in your system longer and will protect against the oxidized l-cysteine that will be produced. Actually, n-acetyl cysteine is used for Tylenol overdoses because it detoxifies so well. Some links... Warmth and sweating always makes me feel better after an exposure. Your pores will open up and give your liver a break.
