this doc obviously doesn't know what he or she is talking about. the stats i have heard are that 30% have problems at least occasionally with one or two chemicals. i'm not sure of the percentage which have true MCS, very impaired, reacting to all kinds of chemicals. i would guess it at around 1 percent, with the potential population who could become impaired, due to methylation blocks, much higher, maybe 10%?
i have a friend who works as research immunologist for a major soap/personal products company. he says there are substances put into laundry soap to help clean that are also sensitizers. if they accidentally put in too much of this substance, they could sensitize the entire population to all kinds of chemicals.
so if the doc said, everyone has the potential to have MCS, then he/she would be right.
