ME/CFS Alert #38: Dr. John Chia on his son’s ME/CFS & remission

  [ 15 votes ]   [ Discuss This Article ]
www.ProHealth.com • December 26, 2012

Dec 22: Llewellyn King interviews Torrance, CA-based John Chia, MD, a leading infectious disease specialist and “one of the great names in ME/CFS research.” Dr. Chia describes how his own high-school-aged son was devastated by ME/CFS – and subsequently achieved remission. His son had experienced two viral illnesses before developing full blown ME/CFS symptoms. In such cases Dr. Chia believes viruses – especially certain enteroviral ‘cousins’ of polio virus – do not just cause severe acute infection but can invade and persist in the cells, like the 'seeds' of weeds.
