Dr. Lapp Reports on Ottawa IACFS Conference ('Not What You Expected')

Dr. Charles Lapp - a leading ME/CFS and FM specialist and director of the Hunter-Hopkins Center in Charlotte, NC - has a talent for simplifying the complex. And in true form he has produced a nice review of selected presentations featured at last month’s 2011 IACFS conference in Ottawa - attended by about 400 professionals and patients from more than 20 countries.

To read Dr. Lapp’s summary with comments, go to http://drlapp.com/news/iacfs-2011-summary/

As for how some of this emerging information can be put to practical use, Dr. Lapp comments toward the end that:

“There is no good source of up-to-date accurate information on the diagnosis and treatment of ME/CFS. The IACFS has stepped in to resolve this problem. A committee of 11 members has developed a brief (less than 30 pages) Primer of ME/CFS. The booklet is currently in its final draft stages and will be made available in the near future. Members of the Primer committee include Ken Friedman, Alison Bested, Ros Vallings, Fred Friedberg, Rosemary Underhill, Alan Gurwitt, Lenny Jason, Staci Stevens, Nancy Klimas, Cindy Bateman, and Chuck Lapp.”

As always we thank you, Dr. Lapp.
