His son had experienced two viral illnesses before developing full blown ME/CFS symptoms. In such cases Dr. Chia believes viruses – especially certain enteroviral ‘cousins’ of polio virus – do not just cause severe acute infection but can invade and persist in the cells, like the 'seeds' of weeds.
