Op-Ed in NY Times: Name chronic fatigue syndrome has been ‘a kind of social punishment’

In an Op-Ed piece published online Oct 20 in The New York Times (“A Case of Chronic Denial”), Hillary Johnson depicts the CDC’s attitude toward and naming of ‘Chronic Fatigue Syndrome’ as ‘dismissive’ and suggestive of a personality disorder rather than a disease, beginning with the Lake Tahoe outbreak of 1984 and following it to the present.
