I saw the neurologist today and he explained the migraines I have been getting for the past 2 1/2 weeks were with "nystagmus," which is when you feel like your eyes are just rolling around uncontrollably in your head and then I would lose my balance. He explained that it can happen with migraines. Never ever had it happen before, but had it happen these past two weeks every time I had a migraine. I didn't have a migraine today, but the neurologist did tests and I don't have the nystagmus at this moment and it was only happening during a migraine.

I got the occipital neural block today in my head (like an epidural) so hopefully the migraines will disappear for a while. The migraines over the past 2 1/2 weeks were so much stronger and maybe that had to do with the nystagmus.

I thought I would pass this along in case anyone else develops this and my info might help you.

The "rolling eyes" never came back so I'm fortunate about that. The "block" done to my head was totally successful and stopped the migraines completely. Unfortunately, the block kicked off a lupus flare, but it's a small price to pay to get rid of really severe migraines and my flares last for a short time that includes some fever and some malar lupus rash across the face (butterfly red rash across the facial cheeks and nose).

I have repeatedly told the neurologist I want a new head. That I'll even take a sheep's head, a cat's head, even a roach's head--the neurologist always tells me they are on back order!!!!
