Apparently cataracts can cause migraines

Okay, here is the latest info I was told. I have a cataract that is not from old age but from medication. I am so sensitive to light now, and have been getting migraines constantly. The eye surgeon told me that cataracts greatly intensify the light entering my eye and it may be the cause of the migraines I am having right now.

I have the occipital neural block soon and it will coincide so it does not impact the eye surgery and the ingredients of the Block will not impact the surgery. (It was all researched and approved by the neurologist who does the Block AND the eye surgeon). So hopefully the Block will stop the migraines plus so I don't have a migraine the day of eye surgery.

Talked to the neurologist yesterday

I had the occipital neural block yesterday to try to stop the massive migraines I am getting. My last block was the beginning of May and this is just not the norm for me to develop migraines so soon afterwards.

The neurologist said I am light sensitive when I have migraines. Then add that to the light sensitivity caused by this large cataract and it could very well explain these migraines that are breaking through the block. So he did the block and is hoping it will hope me through the eye surgery and afterwards. Unfortunately a normal symptom after eye surgery is to get "light flashes" for a while (oh joy, and this to a migraine sufferer who can't stand strobe lights or similar type lights). So we'll see how it works out.
