Movement specialist and Neuro

Yes, up until a month ago, I was seeing both. My neuro diagnosed me with essential tremor and generalized anxiety in November 2004. In December 2006, I decided to go to a Movement Disorder Specialist since my leg, arm and jaw tremor was getting worse plus I was feeling a little rigid in my R hand. A Movement Disorder Specialist is a neurologist with a few more years of training to identify movement disorders. AT that point, the MDS diagnosed me with Parkinsons. My ex-neuro is still hesitant in that he feels I show very little rigidity. So, if it is Parkinsons, it is progressing very slowly. I have chosen just to continue with the specialist to avoid conflicting prescriptions with meds, etc. For anyone who is still in the process of being diagnosed, I do recommend more than one opinion as this is a very tricky disease to diagnose. The early symptoms are vague and not always apparent to the onlooker. The bottom line is; Time tells.

MDS

I was diagnosed by an MDS an as soon as he saw me walk in the door he knew i had PD.I had so many symptoms I had just brushed off. It has taken a while to get my meds regulated but feel so mich better now. He does a lot of research on Pd too.
