Pain in the neck
|
Could anyone tell me if you have suffered with a sinus problem and if you experienced any neck pain? On the side where my sinus is blocked, my neck aches down the side! ?
Thank you.

RE: pain in the neck
|
There have been some days when I've felt all foggy with my sinuses feeling achey, dried out & plugged up, and where simultaneously my neckbones feel tender & enlarged and occasionally when this happens they are "noisy," making creaky sounds when I move my head. Now than I'm researching sinusitis online, I am curious what the connection is, if any, between the bones in my neck, and the condition of my sinuses.

Pain in neck
|
My doctor once told me this was impossible. But then I have also been told that my allergies/sinuses can't be so bad that water can run out my eyebrows as well as my eyes but it does.
My cousin, an RN of many years told me that a lot of people complain of neck pain and yes it can be from sinuses.
I get terrible pain in the back of my head and neck when my sinuses are really bothering me.

I get this too..

I once asked my Dr why it hurts back there and if it could be from my sinuses.. She said there arent any back there but yrs ago.. to the Dr I used to see from the time I was 13. .until she retired.. said of course ... My Sister inlaw said her Dr told her there was.. so go figure.. why does one know it and not the others?. Makes you wonder where the heck they went to school and if they just barely passed their board exams.. Just because they are Drs.. doesnt mean they were A+ students and were good at it.. All it takes is to pass.. they could have just barely made it.. and they still get their Drs Certificate or whatever is called.. I don't trust Drs.. All they really do is prescribe meds .. we are the only ones that really know how our body feels and what seems normal or not normal..

Yes, this is my primary problem. See my reply to GreatGran's post also, but I did a ton of research on this because I would be in so much pain I would just lie on the floor and cry. This is due to the inflammation of the sphenoid sinuses. When they get inflammed they cause pain at the top of the head and in the neck. They are the smallest of all the sinuses so it is rarer that they are affected, though mine are affected quite a bit. What helps me EVERY time now is I take Excedrin Migraine. Then I get this sinus pack I have (it is full of beans I think and you put it in the microwave for 45 seconds) called the bed buddy or sinus buddy, I can't remember. You put it directly on your eyes/nose. Your sphenoids are located behind your nose and are tiny. This always helps to bring down the inflammation. Sometimes I'll still have dull pain at the top of the head and in the neck but it is much milder and usually goes away after about an hour. Hope this helps.
