Sinus , Ear Fullness, Vertigo, Off Balance, Help
|
Wondering if anyone can relate to my problem, not sure if its because of my CFS/FM or what is going on so here goes.
Awake early a.m. between 3 and 5 with a headache between my eyes, I usually get up take some bufferin get me a hot rag for my head, sometimes take a xanax and try to go back to sleep. The headache usually goes away after I have been up for awhile.
This goes on for a few days, then I have horrible fatigue, body aches, chills. Then the ear fullness, ringing is much louder, (I always have ringing 24/7) Off balance and last week a bad vertigo attack.
When this happens my anxiety is soooooooooooo bad all I can do is cry and feel like I am going insane.
Have tried, antibiotics, nasal rinse, mucinex, decongestion nasal spray (which helps so much but not suppose to use more than 5 days and I never use more than 3).
After the antibiotic and resting I think I am improving , get out of bed and feel like I am getting over in and then it seems to start over again.
Have been to an ENT, he says sinus and prescribes antibiotics, so does my medical doc. My sinus x-ray was ok not gone for a CT, can't stand to lie on my back and tilt my head way back, not yet.
I have no fever if I do its not much, clear mucus, This seems to come and go and makes me miserable.
Was tested for allergies, all negative but not tested for food or enviormental allergies, just the mold, dust mites, animals etc.
This darn CFS is the pits and add this to it is making me homebound and miserable.
Anyone please, greatgran

Thanks Jamin

No, dairy and no eating after dinner lately as I have been to nauseated and feel to miseralbe to eat.
My doc wants me to have a bedtime snack, something small with protein to balance my blood sugar. Usually celery and peanut butter.
Today I had some chicken noodle soup, low sodium and hot green tea, have boiled me an egg to have for a snack in case I need it.
This will pass, I hope, but will start keeping a food diary. You may be on to something, as usual.
Have a great weekend and Thanks, gg

one more thought now

watch the peanut butter, try almond or macadania or cashew. Peanuts are a known mold antagonist. Just a thought. jam

Chronic sinusitis - You are not alone
|
I just posted my story under the Candida message board. I am currently suffering from a chronic sinus and ear problem. I am blurry and foggy, I have constant headaches in the front part of my forehead and in my eyes. My ears are plugged, extremely sensitive to cold wind, and I have constant tinnitis..it's a high pitched hissing noise. I am currently on an anti Candida diet and Threelac. I am also using XClear which is a natural, non habit forming saline solution with Xylitol. I believe this chronic infection is due to yeast overgrowth and so does my Naturopath. This past February, I had a horrible sinus infection and a traditional doctor put me on Levaquin. Not only did the Levaquin NOT work, that is when my tinnitis started and I battled with severe joint pain (a side effect). If you have a good relationship with your current doctor ask them to do a candida test (stool samples are the most accurate. blood tests can sometimes be misleading). Unfortunately many traditional doctors still don't know enough about Candida and will want to dismiss the idea. The test can't hurt and you might be surprised at the results. Good luck to you

Well, Greatgran....

I've got the same stuff you have. It could be Candida causing these symptoms. The way I was tested was at the Fibro and Fatigue Center. I definitly had it. Tomorrow I will be finding out from Doc what to take. The darn thing can get anywhere in your body where it's the weakest. Here is a web-site you may be interested in: www.fibroandfatigue.com and maybe there is a center near you. they have really helped me in the Fatigue dept. and this is the 3rd mo. going there. I believe at about the 3rd month you can have phone conferences with the Doc. They can treat the anxiety as well. i hope this helps you. Have courage and faith and God will help you. The antibiotics just make Candida worse. The fatigue could be caused by Hypothyroidism, and the Center will find it with their extensive bloodwork.Keep in touch, BT123

I have experienced the same
|
I can 100% relate to what you are going though. I have gone through the exact same thing, almost exactly the same in every way you describe. A few years ago I had a massive vertigo attack which sent me to the ER. For about 6 months following I would have small vertigo attacks. I had never (for as long as I can remember) been able to breathe out of one nostril but I thought it was just congestion, no big deal. Eventually the vertigo attacks went away for a while but then beginning this past August I started feeling ill and lightheaded. I wasn't quite sure what was wrong but I felt very tired and thought I was probably developing allergies as my Mom had around my age. As time went on I began to feel worse and worse. I made multiple trips to the doctor only to have them say it was just allergies and prescribe another type of allergy medicine. I tried Claritin, Allegra, Xyzol, Zyrtec, and Nasonex all with little affect on my symptoms. I also tried any and all types of cold medicines which made little difference. The only thing I had found that helped temporarily was the sinus rinse and a warm pack for the sinus headaches. Eventually I experienced the exact same thing you have....severe anxiety of the "unknown" primarily which caused stress and a loss of appetite. A total destruction to my way of life for a while. Eventually I went to the doctor and was prescribed Xanax. The prognosis was that I was having panic attacks because the allergies made me feel lightheaded as the vertigo had in the past. Still no success. I knew I had to gain control of my life if I wanted to find out what was wrong, so I went to see an ENT specialist. Turns out, allergies did trigger my symptoms but the problem was a severly deviated septum that is blocking the entry to my sinuses so they cannot drain. I also have a large cyst that needs removed. All of this came about from my visit to the ENT, his prognosis, and a cat scan confirming this. If you haven't gone already, I very much recommend it. It will solve any mysteries and it only takes 3 minutes of lying down. Not too bad when you think of the big picture. This made me feel better...no more anxiety, but still had the symptoms. He recommended Mucinex D (amazing!) until my surgery next month (I am having my septum removed, fixed, and reinserted...holes drilled in all my sinuses to promote drainage, and the cyst removed.) I still felt awful though so I went to another amazing family practice doctor who gave me an antibiotic....Levaquin. It worked wonderfully. Turns out I had had a severe sinus infection for months (about 4!) but since I didn't have colored mucus no one else would prescribe anything to me. Now I feel much better and I have surgery next month. I just wanted to make sure to tell you my story because I had the exact same problem and hopefully something that has helped me may help you as well.
