Has anyone else heard of this?

I read online that sinusitis can cause depression. If anyone knows if this is true, I welcome all information on the subject. thanks

Yes, with me

When my sinus are in a flare I have bad depression and anxiety. I am having a bout right now with the sinus, ear fullness and depression/anxiety. It seems since Sept. I just can't shake the darn sinusitis and I am going crazy.

I also have bad vertigo attacks from the darn mess which causes more anxiety.

The doctors just give me that look when I tell them about the depression/anxiety but I do know what my body tells me. I have no documentation to prove this except there is proof about anxiety and the ears.

Just my input,
gg

Beyond any doubt, definitely. Do you get migraines also? I get long periods of extreme congestion, fatigue to the point of falling asleep in mid day, with severe depression. After a week or so of this, I get severe migraine cluster headaches for 3 to 5 days. I am then forced to take Imitrex and codiene. The migraine lifts after one to three days on the meds, and when it lifts the sinus clears, and the worst of the depression. My best , most trusted doctors tell me that this can not be related , but it happens the same way consistently , for decades. Sinus and migraine are two little understood conditions, with myriad variations and complications. Depression and neurological complaints are among them. Everyone is different. Here is what has worked for me to the best extent: Nasonex over other Rx spays, netti pot irrigations, and the best natural spray I have found in 50 years, Sinus Buster hot pepper nasal spray. There is a good essential oil inhalation combo, thyme, clove, cinnamon, in a Vicks steam inhaler. That and the pepper blast out congestion. Good luck.
