Strange Sinus Symptoms
|
I feel I have a sinus infection, seems I keep one. My symptoms are not the typical ones. I awake with a painful headache between my eyebrows and some coughing. Once I am up and around the headache seems to go away but I have body aches and fatigue and an all over feeling of not feeling well. This has gone off and on ever since CFS. An antibiotic usually helps , I also try all the natural things and nasal irrigation but the nasal irrigation seems to plug up my ears. I am trying to get through this without an antibiotic but one day I think its going away then awake with the darn headache and the not feeling well , this has gone on for months. Does anyone experience any of these symptoms if so what do you do? I have had allergy testing and it isn't allergies. Thanks, gg

If you have a good dentist, check with him/her. I have horrible pains in my upper left jaw, under my left eye, to the left of my nose, and just above my left eyebrow. I had one root canal done to my left top molar, was told by a sinus dr. that my sinuses are fine, had another root canal on another tooth in the same area, and still had horrendous pain in my face. This has gone on for two years. I saw the dentist that was covered under my insurance (who wanted to pull the teeth), two endodontists, two oral surgeons, a sinus dr, and still suffered. I finally went back to my old dentist (who wasn't covered under my insurance), he called the second oral surgeon and they said, "Your teeth are fine. Don't let anyone pull them out. Go back to the local endondist one more time, just to rule out the it isn't a root canal problem. You may need a CT scan, but this could be part of your fibromyalgia, but there is nothing wrong with you teeth or the bone surrounding them, so don't let anyone pull them out or start doing destructive work on them. With all the stress you have been going through with your fibro, emphysema, home foreclosure, etc, you are probably grinding and clenching your teeth and jaws during your sleep each night." I have a bridge so it didn't show on my teeth. The dentist told me the amount of poundage clenching teeth causes, but I don't remember it now - it was a lot though. Maybe an anti-anxiety medication would help. Interestingly enough, my mother had false teeth and her mother didn't have any teeth since she was 29. I wonder if they had the same problem and just didn't know. They're deceased and not here to ask. Just a suggestion to think in another area. I never thought teeth grinding could cause this much pain, but I believe it just may be the case.

Hi greatgran
|
I was found to have a polyp in my sinus under my one eye. It is large enough to slow down some sinus drainage, but not big enough for the HMO to take action yet. It was confirmed through X-ray and CT. At one point my sinuses did block and I went to the local D.O. up the street (not on my medical insurance plan) and he handles surgery, flu, everything BUT he also does chiropractic AND ACCUPRESSURE. He did accupressure on my face, then worked on all the sinuses to break the blockage. It hurt like heck, but it worked. So, that is some suggestions you can think about.
