Can Anyone Relate??

I have been suffering with something for about 5 years now there will be a few days that it seems to go away only to appear again..Is this sinusitis/allergies?

Symptoms: Awake with a headache between my eyebrows and stuffy nose, no tenderness to touch, I have to get up once I am up for awhile the headace seems to turn into a dull headache or just goes away..and the stuffy nose disappears..This goes on for a couple of days then the body aches began and I feel like I have the flu, sinusitis/allergies all in one and nothing seems to help..I am usually in bed for three days..This seems to be a weekly thing..Also my ears ring 24/7 and much worse at this time and so is my anxiety and my mood is horrible..

I have seen many docs and been told its allergies, sinus, cfs and they don't know..Have had a CT Scan, was ok..My life is miserable..I do know when I go out and smell cig. smoke or cleaning products it is worse..So I am thinking multiliple chemical sensitives but what do I do..Nothing seems to work..

I can't handle steriods. Anihstimines cause dryness..So when it last more than a week I have to go on an antibiotic and that helps but only for awhile then the whole thing returns..Most of the time the mucus is clear or white but if I let it go on it gets bloody and yellow, sorry to be gross..Sometimes it just stays clear...

So for now my dx is allergies that turn into a sinus infections..But so far no treatments have worked..

The docs are not helpful and I am miserable...Just need some input..Does this sound like a sinus problem that maybe never cleared up?

Thanks, greatgran

Been on the Same Boat

I strongly suspect you have Candida! Go to the Candida message board and read about the symptoms and I would suggest trying the spit test. You can start an anti-yeast diet and other supplements to see if you notice any difference, like I said it is all explained on the message board or google Candida. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for your reply..I do have symptoms of candida but have been tested by my doc and it was negative..I am not sure what spit test you are referring to..I did the one where you spit in a glass of water..The doc did the blood test.. She was sure I had yeast..To my knowledge I have never had a yeast infection, like the ones I have heard other women speak of..But I am not ruling candida out..

I am going to try the diet especially the sugar and yeast products..I also take a probotic...Anything is worth a try...

Thank you, greatgran

i'll try to help

I have no idea, but feel free to read my story I posted here and see if it helps: http://www.immunesupport.com/chat/forums/message.cfm?id=70&B=Sinusitis

I've also had a yeast infection, and I can tell now that after doing the yeast diet and probiotics for however long (month or something), I can breathe WAY better. My guess is that it's an assortment of problems you have. Perhaps the yeast infection caused from heavy/prolonged antibiotic use is causing fatigue and worsening your breathing, while there's some bacterial infection in your sinuses causing your throat pain (I dunno, but you said antibiotics helped temporarily), and an allergy problem to some chemical in cigarettes and cleaning supplies causing sinus pressure and headaches. I hate saying this, but perhaps the doctor you're seeing is a bad doctor and if you were to see another doctor he might be able to figure it out. Just in case any of the three ideas I posted are true, I'm going to post what I know about them.

Yeast Infection_ Cause: Heavy and/or prolonged antibiotic use Diagnosis: Try treatment and see if it helps, sometimes nose swab and culture (yeast infection can be in lots of places, mine was in my nose so the nose swab and culture showed it, but it can also be in unreachable places of your body) Main Treatment: Anti-yeast diet. Basically, you don't eat anything that the yeast can survive from. It's like you're cutting off the yeast's food supply. Seconday Treatments: Apparently there are medicines that attack yeast and probiotics. To explain the probiotics, normally your body's good bacteria would kill the yeast, but taking too much antibiotics has weakened/killed your good bacteria (thus the yeast in you is surving). Once you get rid of the yeast through the diet and get your good bacteria back to life you should be fine. The problem is this conflicts with the bacterial infection in your sinuses.

Bacterial Sinus Infection_ Cause: Bacteria invades sinuses Diagnosis: CAT Scan, ENT looking up in your sinuses through camera-tube, nose swab and culture (all three are not always accurate though) Main Treatment: The reason why it continues to plague you is that your body cannot send mucus into the often-closed sinuses to attack the bacteria. There is a surgery called a sphenoidectomy in which the ENT cuts holes into your sinuses so that you body can send mucus into the sinuses to attack them. I highly recommend you do the tube thing instead though because of your allergies to some chemical(s) in cigarettes and cleaning supplies. Read my other post (the one I linked to in this post) for more detailed information on this and the allergies to some chemical(s) in cigarettes and cleaning supplies.

Allergies to Some Chemical(s) in Cigarettes and Cleaning Supplies_ Cause: genetic code of individual, read my other post for more detail information Diagnosis: Get tested for everything by an Allergist, though you already seem to know that it's Some Chemical(s) in Cigarettes and Cleaning Supplies that you're allergic to Treatments: Read other post (one I linked to in this post)

My Recommendation_ Do yeast diet and stop antibiotics. Try to eat a lot to give your body enough food for fighting the bacteria. This should work to kill the yeast on its own. The nasal saline irrigation will give you a sore throat but get a lot of the bacteria out, so it's up to you. Just be careful not to give it to whomever you live with (you're basically washing out the bacteria with the water). The probiotics will help your body's good bacteria regenerate, but I don't know whether they effect the harmful bacteria in your sinuses or not. You'll probably notice you having more energy and perhaps being able to breathe better in about two to three weeks. Continue like this for about five to six weeks, and the yeast infection should be taken care of. Then, do the tube procedure thing to take care of the harmful bacteria in your sinuses. This will fix the harmful bacterial infection in your sinuses. It takes about two months for your body to recognize the new passage that the tube or doctor-cut hole make, so your problems will continue for about two months after the surgery or tube procedure. Ask your doctor (or perhaps someone here?) if you can do the tube procedure and the yeast diet at the same time. Then, refer to my other post for treatments for the allergies to some chemical(s) in cigarettes and cleaning supplies.

My brother is a longtime chronic sinusitis sufferer who was told about this balloon sinuplasty procedure. He has been through netti pots (sp?), candida, meds, ETC.

He sent me this link: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/balloons/video/x7t88b_raval-on-balloon-sinuplasty_tech

BUT Does anhyone know anyone who has had it done or heard if it works?
