The Politics of Stupid

check out Susan Powter's latest book. I knew of her over 20 yrs ago and she lost tons of weight way back and has kept it off and has written books about her life and success with weight loss.

She talks a lot about how the food industry is "killing us". I think it would be a good read for all of us. Check it out.

Goggle her name and/or book. jam

She's still around?

Wow, I was wondering the other day what ever happened to her. That's awsome that she's kept her weight off. I'll look into her book. I started seeing Dr. St. Amand for FM, and he tells me I'm also hypoglycemic, so I really need to start (again) watching what I eat. I have about 30 lbs. I need to lose. I'm learning I have a difficult relationship with food, and was thinking about either TOPS or OA for support. Any experience with either?

Thanks!

Jessica

Jessica/I went to a TOPS

here in Santa Monica for a few meetings and then stopped going. I think the group closed up by now. I looked for them again, but couldn't find them here. OA is a great group too. I don't have a real difficult time with food, I can control myself pretty well, but I don't move enough.

I didn't care for St. Amand at all. He dx'd me with FM, but I never thought I had it per se. My thyroid was the main issue I went to see him and he immediately said my thyroid was fine but you have FM. I've always questioned that dx. I have mostly OA and having great success with MSM powder which I've talked a lot about on the some other boards here. It was a sluggish thyroid after and I got on Armour a couple years later.

A rheumy also said she didn't think I have FM. I may have a slight "case" but I take so many supps and feel the Grapeseed Extract has kept me more tip top than most with the FM dx.

This MSM powder thou is so great...amazing how much relief I'm having in 10 days. jam
