Abstract

A 20-year-old University of Delaware student developed a vague systemic disorder one week after camping in a Maryland state park known to be endemic with the tick Ixodes dammini, the vector for
Lyme Disease. Light-headedness developed and an electrocardiogram revealed complete heart block.
Lyme Disease was confirmed by the characteristic erythema migrans rash and
Lyme serologies.
